Lawn Mower recommendations Part 2 Garden. Why not look at a masport or roverozdelta writes. Why not look at a masport or rover. I wouldnt buy a Rover for two reasons. They are poorly designed and the after sales support is not there. The poor design can be seen on the Rover Regal. The Rover has a hose attachment for cleaning the underbody of the mower. The paper air filters also dont fit the the air filter case. This results in the filters crushing and not filtering the air to the engine. I contacted Rover about a different mower I own. Strongly interested in a 3. V cordless option but theyre out of budget. Why not save another month with it been winter the grass wont need cutting. The Ryobi 3. 6V cordless for that size lawn would be magic. Victa. Dont think you are ever better off buying a cheap mower even for the size lawn you have. Lineland writes. Why not save another month with it been winter the grass wont need cutting. The Ryobi 3. 6V cordless for that size lawn would be magic. Its more about being able to justify it 3. Battery may not last more than a few years. I have a Victa Mustang Honda Engine, its brilliant, even when the grass is thick and wet she keeps going. I never use a catcher with it, just mulch everything. Lineland writes. I own that model mower and highly recommend the mower. The Subaru engine is TOPS Would put the Subaru motor ahead of the Honda. Well that settles it then ill pick one up tomorrowOn your lawn you wont get to appreciate the torque of the engine. Ah well, if I get slack and let it grow a bit longer than I should, or it gets a bit wet good to know ive got the torque if ever needed Good looking mower as well Hows the mulching function on these btw Also whats the difference between the blade types in mowers Theres 4 blade models with disc, two blade swing bar etc. Y Whats the difference between these two RLM4. I get some pretty heavy grass and it rarely misses a beat. Best thing I could find for the money. Delian League writes. Husqvarna LC 1. 8The engine is basic plain bearing. The quality of the engine is low for the price of the mower. Plain bearing no ball bearing engines have limited life and cannot be repaired. I checked out the Husqvarna prior to buying the Ryobi. Well went and bought the RyobiSubaru today and gave it a whirl. Set up was pretty easy and quick Didnt start first time. Primer doesnt seem to work all that wellIll put it down to being new. Sounded like it was 8. Once it got going, it worked well, nice smooth motor that seems to be a bit quieter than normal. First time ive used a mulching mower, and wow very impressed. Cant believe ive been missing out on this all these years I have a few negatives which I will add later in a bit of a rush atm, but Id give it a 81. His old Victa would be 2 Stroke He will love the LC1. Victa, they start very easy, the retail price has gone up on them from April 1st, some dealers may be doing them at the old price or better still. The Hobo writes. RyobiSubaru today. Just got the same mower. After looking though here. Had like 2. 50 in bunnings vouchers. First time I have ever owned a mower And honestly used one hahaha. The Hobo writes. Set up was pretty easy and quick Didnt start first time. Primer doesnt seem to work all that well Ill put it down to being new. Sounded like it was 8. Yeah mine was the same more or less. First time ive used a mulching mower, and wow very impressed. Cant believe ive been missing out on this all these years Yeah I tried using it, didnt seem like it was doing much. Is it supposed to I changed over to the catcher to make sure I wasnt doing anything wrong. Andyvan writes. Yeah I tried using it, didnt seem like it was doing much. Is it supposed to I changed over to the catcher to make sure I wasnt doing anything wrong. Depends on the lawn. On my LC1. 8 if Im mowing regularly and the grass is dry then I can mow without the catcher and theres no obvious trail of clippings it all gets broken down enough that it falls down into the grass. If Ive let the grass grow a bit longer or its a bit damp it will still leave clumps, though TBH im too lazy to take the mulcher plug in and out so I just live with occasional lumps of grass lol. Seems that some people are talking about the Husqvarna LC1. Ryobi 1. 90cc please mention which mower you are commenting on. The Hobo writes. I have a few negatives which I will add later in a bit of a rush atm, but Id give it a 81. So negatives for the RyobiSubaru 1 the handles feel a bit flimsy. Ill have to double check all the bolts to see if theyre all tight. The cable going to the throttle keeps getting in the way. You cant cable tie them to the handles, because when it comes time to fold the handles when putting the mower away it gets stretched. As mentioned, the primer bulb doesnt seem to work as well as my past mowers however this could be due to it being the first use. Lineland writes. The engine is basic plain bearing. The quality of the engine is low for the price of the mower. Plain bearing no ball bearing engines have limited life and cannot be repaired. I checked out the Husqvarna prior to buying the Ryobi. Ok then, a mate of mine suggested a Masport mower. I had a look at the Masport website and for a bit less than 1. Husqvarna LC 1. 8 is the Masport President 3. ST Combo IC at an RRP of 6. It seems like a decent mower. Masport also has their Silver Series of mowers though I havent worked out the main differences between these and the President Series. The masport 3. 00. Actually went to buy one but my local masport retailer ended up being useless. Went elsewhere and got the lc. Everything about the masport sounded good though. Local dealer had it with a smaller engine only that was not documented as an option anywhere by masport, and was different to their own website and were generally clueless and unhelpful when questioned about it. I bought the Victa Corvette Alloy recently from the guys at Prompt Mowers in Rouse Hill. Heaps of praise for the guys. Super professional, know their stuff, willing to help and even run you right through your new purchase to ensure you understand its functions. The mower is an absolute beauty. Not that loud, purrs along, and rips through grass cleanly and precisely. Delian League writes.
